General Information


2012 Printable Athlete Information Packet  Coming soon

Online registration opens April 1, 2012.  Onsite registration will be available from 4:00-7:00 Friday, July 6 at the Bentonville Parks and Recreation Downtown Activity Center.  Credit cards will not be accepted.  Onsite registration fees are $80 for individual, $135 for Teams  + USAT memberships:  $15 Annual Youth, $12 One Day Adult, $10 One Day Youth.

We will have hot food after the race for all race participants, plus other tasty treats. Friends and family may eat for a nominal fee.

Directions to Horseshoe Bend Park. Use 16165 E. HWY 94, Rogers AR 72758 for mapping purposes.

Phat Tire Bike Shop Wrench Support Schedule:
Friday @ Packet Pick-up - 4pm-7pm
Saturday @ Memorial Park – 5am-transition area close
Sunday @ Horseshoe Bend – 5am-transition area close

Phat Tire Bike Shop will be offering complementary wrench support throughout the weekend and will also have a good supply of small parts and nutrition for racers to purchase.  Phat Tire will also offer racers 15% off tune-up labor at the downtown Bentonville location until Tuesday July 20.  Bring in your proof of Our Mission:

Rules

All 2012 USAT rules are in effect. See www.usatriathon.org for complete rules.

The age group of a participant will be determined by age on December 31, 2012, not by age on race day.
  Minimum age to compete is thirteen years old.

Event will be held rain or shine.

All competitors are required to have a current USA Triathlon license or purchase a one day or annual USAT license in order to compete.

No refunds on registration.



Awards

Top (3) overall male and female finisher and top male masters and top female masters will receive special awards. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group ( Subject to change based on field depth)




Parking

Parking in Horseshoe Bend Park is limited. Core of Engineers Park Regulations require a $4 per car charge to enter the park. ATHLETES: The $4 fee is included in your entry fee. You will be given a voucher to enter the park on race day only. Others, not arriving with athlete, must pay the required $4 fee and be prepared to walk!




Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be available Friday, July 6, 4-7 pm, and Saturday, July 7, 4-7 pm at
Bentonville Parks and Recreation Downtown Activity Center, 215 SW A St, Bentonville, AR, 479-464-7275.  Race day packet pickup is available, however, to better enjoy your race day experience, we strongly encourage you to make arrangements to attend packet pickup on Friday or Saturday.

Health & Wellness Expo A Health and Wellness Expo will take place on Friday, July 6th and Saturday July  7th during packet pick-up 4-7pm at the Bentonville Parks and Recreation Downtown Activity Center.  For information on having a booth, contact sebclinard@cox.net.

(500 Yards) Lake swim in Beaver Lake.
Bike Course (15 Mile) Rolling hills between Horseshoe Bend Park and Rogers, AR. Climb out of transition to mostly rolling and flat terrain. One significant climb just past the chicken restaurant then it's all down hill back to transition. Click for map.

FAQs

Q: How can I register for the race?

A Registration link available soon.

Q: Can I register on race day?
A: No, all registrations must be completed online or at packet pickup. Sorry, there is NO race day registration.

Q: What will I need for packet pick-up?
A: Please bring a picture ID and one of the following: a current USAT registration card, USAT temporary card (see www.usatriathlon.org) or complete a single day USAT race registration form at packet pick-up. YOU MUST BE USAT REGISTERED TO RACE! 


Q: Why do I have to register with USAT?
A: USAT registration is required for all USAT sanctioned events.  This covers insurance for you, the volunteers and all others connected to the race.

Q: What if I have already registered with USAT but can’t find my card?
A:
All participants must have USAT registration for race day.
  You can print out a temporary card by going to the USAT website. Please remember: no card, no ID, no race!  This is a requirement for all USAT sanctioned events.
